August 24, 2009
Technical Communication UK is the new annual conference that aims to meet the needs of technical communicators, their managers and clients, from every corner of the industry. The conference is held at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham from September 23-24, 2009.
Berry Braster, Sales & Marketing Director at Tedopres International will discuss the use of Controlled Language (also known as Simplified Technical English, and how standardizing terminology and grammar improves readability, reduces translation cost and facilitates DITA and CMS.
Simplified Technical English is a method of writing that makes technical English easy to understand. The adaptation of a controlled language stimulates the (global) acceptance of technical documentation as it improves readability and translatability, and prevents misunderstandings and misinterpretations.
During this session, Mr. Braster will explain the benefits of controlled authoring using case studies, and show how overall cost, time to market, and content volume will be reduced and how you can save considerably on translations: up to 40% per language!
